Signing of MoU with Ministry of Economy
Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia endorses Friends of Georgia International Foundation
The Friends of Georgia International Foundation received another landmark endorsement in a ceremony in Madrid at which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Friends of Georgia International Foundation and the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia.
Various senior representatives from the Ministry and the FoG Foundation were also in attendance.
Recognising the shared commitment to Georgia Economic Development, the agreement calls for both parties to work together to establish a partnership. Both parties have agreed to commence practical steps towards their shared goals.
Signing on behalf of the Ministry, His Excellency Zurab Pololikashvili, Minister of Economic Development, acknowledging the Foundation’s mission to improve the international promotion and development of Georgia welcomed the agreement “as a milestone in the collaboration of both institutions”.
The Friends of Georgia International Foundation representative, Mr. Jaime Amoedo said “We are delighted and honoured to receive this important endorsement from the Ministry. We share the vision of the Minister that a deeper collaboration between both institutions will result in practical and quantifiable gains towards the goal of improving the economic development of Georgia on a larger scale, benefiting individuals and the country as a whole.”
The parties intend to cooperate on current economic development issues, inter alia, in the areas of:
- Strengthening of entrepreneurship activity and attractive business and investment climate.
- Strengthening of private sector.
- Strengthening and protection of market competition.
- Development of tourist, transport and communication infrastructure and support to growth of the country’s transit potential.
- Support to growth of export potential.
- Rehabilitation and economic development of the regions of Georgia.
- Creation of new jobs in the private sector of Georgia.
- Attraction of investments into Georgia.
- Growth of population prosperity and reduction of poverty.
The joint activities within the framework of this Memorandum of Understanding will be conducted, inter alia, in the following forms:
